Kodava Sahitya Academy seeks review of references to community’s origin, attire in CBSE textbook
The Kodava Sahitya Academy has asked the Central Board of Secondary Education to review a passage in the Class X English textbook ‘Glimpses of India’. The chapter titled ‘Coorg’ describes the Kodava community as ‘possibly of Greek or Arabic descent’ and mentions traditional dress. The academy says the statements are inaccurate and seeks correction. It has urged the board to amend the content promptly.
