Under tight security, ‘divine umbrellas’ from Chennai reach Tirupati for Tirumala Brahmotsavams
Nine of the eleven sacred umbrellas being transported from Chennai arrived in Tirupati under heightened security for the Tirumala Brahmotsavam's Garuda Seva ceremony, while the remaining two were sent to the Padmavati temple in Tiruchanur. Authorities have maintained strict safeguards following a thwarted 2013 bomb plot targeting the umbrellas at Puttur.
