Former chief minister O. Palaniswami criticised the Tamil Nadu government’s proposal to construct a new Secretariat complex, arguing that the state is currently in a fiscal crisis. He urged the administration to first stabilise the finances and then identify an alternative site for the building that would not place additional strain on the public. Palaniswami made the remarks in a recent interview.
