Congress rejects claim that party MPs backed UPI fee
Congress has denied reports that its MPs supported a fee on the Unified Payments Interface. The party says the proposal was never submitted to, nor approved by, the parliamentary panel. During the panel’s discussion, members questioned the necessity and effectiveness of the Merchant Discount Rate. Leader Manish Tewari emphasized these concerns, recently rejected the claim.
