Thousands of Barclays staff revolt over return-to-office mandate
Around several thousand Barclays employees have staged a walkout to oppose the bank’s new return‑to‑office policy, which forces staff back to physical workplaces. The union representing them is urging the company to provide travel‑cost subsidies and to exempt workers whose commute exceeds forty minutes, arguing the mandate imposes undue hardship and could affect morale and retention.
