Parliament Standing Committee didn’t discuss MDR charges on UPI transactions, says Gaurav Gogoi
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi told the parliamentary standing committee that it had not examined the proposed merchant discount rate (MDR) on UPI payments. He said officials from the finance ministry and the payments regulator failed to give clear or satisfactory explanations for introducing the new fee, leaving the committee without sufficient information to assess the measure.
