GCC to procure 260 tonnes of bituminous cold mix ahead of Northeast monsoon
India’s Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has ordered 260 tonnes of bituminous cold mix to repair potholes on bus routes and internal roads in 15 zones before the Northeast monsoon. The move follows complaints about damaged roads and stalled relaying projects. GCC’s Deputy Mayor M. Magesh Kumaar proposes annual, zone‑specific maintenance contracts to ensure smoother traffic flow and reduce maintenance costs.
