DDMA conducts tsunami mock drill at Veliyankode coast
India’s Disaster Management Authority carried out a tsunami simulation exercise along the Veliyankode shoreline. Participants practiced evacuating residents to designated safe zones, conducting rescue operations, providing immediate medical aid, and implementing post‑event procedures following an issued tsunami alert. The drill aimed to assess and improve inter‑agency coordination and overall readiness for potential coastal disasters in the region.
