Only Prime Minister’s Office can grant sanction to prosecute IAS officers, Centre tells Madras High Court
The central government told the Madras High Court that only the Prime Minister’s Office can issue a sanction to prosecute IAS officers. The court gave the government two months to secure such sanction for officers K.S. Kandasamy and K. Vijaya Karthikeyan, who are accused in a ₹98.25 crore tender irregularities case involving former AIADMK minister S.P. Velumani.
