Union Cabinet approves raising EPFO wage ceiling to ₹25,000 per month
India’s Union Cabinet approved raising the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation wage ceiling to ₹25,000 per month. The government said the move will extend mandatory EPFO coverage to over 5.1 million additional workers, bringing more low‑income earners into the social security system. Officials estimate that the new ceiling will include roughly 51 lakh employees previously excluded from the scheme.
