Karnataka Labour Department asserts that night-shift safeguards for women employees are covered under OSH Rules
The Karnataka Labour Department responded to concerns raised by the Karnataka IT Users’ Association, stating that safety measures for women working night shifts, previously mandated under the Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, are now included in the state's Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSH) Rules. The department said the OSH framework provides the required protections.
