Keralam CM warns State to brace for rising heat, surging power demand as El Niño effect set to worsen
Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan warned that rising temperatures and an El Niño‑linked increase in electricity demand will pressure the state's grid. He set a one‑week deadline to ease the current power shortfall and urged the government to craft a long‑term plan that expands renewable capacity, upgrades transmission and aims to make Kerala a power‑surplus state.
