Six States, UT sign Kishau multipurpose project agreement; CM Sukhu hails ‘major victory’ for Himachal

Six Indian states and a Union Territory have signed an agreement to develop the Kishau multipurpose project on the Tons River, which forms the border between Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu described the pact as a major victory for the state, highlighting expected benefits such as hydro‑electric generation, irrigation and water supply.
