Highest retail inflation under Modi is 4.8%, under UPA it was almost 10%, says Joshi
Union Education and Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi told reporters that the current retail inflation rate of 4.8% marks the highest level recorded during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s twelve‑year administration. He contrasted this with the UPA era, when inflation regularly surpassed ten percent and never dropped into single‑digit territory. He made the remarks on Tuesday, and The Hindu reported the comments.
