Engineers’ Day to be State event; govt. allows prefix ‘Er’ to names
The state government announced that Engineers’ Day will be observed as an official state event. In addition, it approved the use of the professional title ‘Er’ as a prefix before the names of qualified engineers, allowing them to display the designation in official and personal contexts. The move aims to recognize the engineering profession and standardise its representation.
