Nearly 45,000 ration card holders in Keralam face exclusion from priority category after Centre’s directive on unclaimed rations
Following a central government order that identified unclaimed food grains, about 45,000 ration card holders in Kerala will lose priority status in the public distribution system. The move targets 5,370 Antyodaya Anna Yojana cards covering 6,401 beneficiaries and 38,909 Priority Household cards covering 60,300 beneficiaries, according to the state’s monitoring data. The exclusion will be implemented from the upcoming distribution cycle.
