Cashless medical insurance of up to ₹5 lakh annually for advocates
India’s Bar Council has raised the Advocate Welfare Fund’s cashless medical insurance limit from ₹1.5 lakh to ₹5 lakh per year for practicing lawyers. The scheme also expands death‑benefit eligibility, extending the maximum age for assistance from 65 to 70 years. The Bar Council of India says the boost addresses rising medical costs and aims to improve financial security for advocates.
