Govt. raisin processing unit in Vijayapura to help farmers cut down on transportation costs to Maharashtra
India's government has inaugurated a raisin processing facility in Vijayapura, Karnataka, aimed at lowering transportation expenses for local growers. Previously, farmers shipped their grapes to processing plants in Maharashtra's Sangli or Pune, or incurred higher fees at private units. The new plant is expected to streamline processing, reduce costs, and boost profitability for the region's raisin producers.
