Left parties to contest in Tamil Nadu bypolls; CPI to field candidate in Dharapuram, CPI(M) in Madurantakam
Two left‑wing parties will contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu by‑elections, with the Communist Party of India planning a candidate for the Dharapuram seat and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) fielding one in Madurantakam. Candidate lists are expected on September 15. Party spokesperson Veerapandian described the polls as atypical, saying they have been imposed on voters.
