Red hexagon on your snack pack: What FSSAI’s new proposed warning label means | Explained

India’s food regulator, the FSSAI, has asked the Supreme Court to allow a new warning label – a red hexagon – on packaged foods. The label would appear on items that contain high levels of at least two of three nutrients of concern: added sugar, added saturated fat and salt, and on certain highly sweetened beverages for consumers.
