Barrier-free toll booths on national highways by March 2027: Nitin Gadkari
India’s Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, said that by March 2027 every toll plaza on the national highway network will operate without physical barriers, using only FASTag electronic tags. The fully digital system will remove cash lanes, speed up vehicle movement and is projected to generate a fiscal benefit of about ₹25,000 crore annually for the government.
