IRCTC deactivates over three crore user IDs, suspends 6.33 crore IDs
IRCTC has deactivated more than 30 million user IDs and suspended 63.3 million IDs after agents were found using fake accounts to make bulk bookings and then sell tickets at inflated prices. Investigations revealed that travel agents created thousands of fictitious profiles to reserve seats in bulk and resell them to passengers. The crackdown includes stricter identity verification and a review of booking protocols.
