Rotten meat, spoiled milk seized across Bengal as food safety raids widen
State food inspectors in West Bengal have intensified raids, confiscating decomposed meat and tainted milk from numerous outlets. Licenses of several restaurants and sweet shops in North 24 Parganas, Hooghly, Bardhaman, Kolkata and Birbhum were revoked. The actions coincide with Consumer Protection Week, underscoring heightened enforcement of safety standards across the region. The Food Safety Department said the moves aim to curb adulteration.
