SC/ST quota medical seats in Karnataka see sharp decline after reconfiguration of reservation matrix
After Karnataka restored its previous reservation percentages for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, following High Court hearings on the expanded reservation policy, the allocation of medical college seats to these groups fell sharply. The reconfiguration of the reservation matrix reduced the number of seats available to SC and ST candidates, overall significantly reversing earlier increases.
