EC invites Trinamool factions for meeting over party symbol, name
India’s Election Commission has called a meeting with two splinter groups of the Trinamool Congress to discuss the party’s symbol and name ahead of the October 6 by‑polls in West Bengal. The nomination window opened on September 9 and will close on September 16. Both factions have confirmed they intend to field candidates in the upcoming election.
