Rare Fulvous whistling duck spotted in Keralam’s Malappuram
Birdwatchers in Kerala's Malappuram district have recorded a rare sighting of a Fulvous whistling duck, a species typically confined to the wetlands of Assam and other northeastern states. The duck arrived with the early monsoon and is expected to stay only until the post‑monsoon period, usually departing by October. Such occurrences are uncommon in southern India, underscoring the species' north‑south migratory movement during the season.
