Karnataka issues order restricting Vande Mataram to two stanzas in State functions
Karnataka's government has issued a directive that only the first two verses of the national song 'Vande Mataram' may be performed at state-sponsored events. The restriction does not apply to ceremonies attended by the President, Vice‑President, Prime Minister or a state Governor, where the complete six‑verse version may be played or sung under the new order.
