Offshore floating platform proposed along Keralam coast to protect coastline, harness clean energy
The Kerala government has unveiled a plan to install a floating offshore platform along its coastline. The structure is intended to shield the shore from harsh sea conditions while generating renewable power using wave motion, wind turbines and solar panels. Officials say the initiative will also support a sustainable blue‑economy model and boost local resilience to climate impacts.
