China confirms Xi to visit India after 7 year gap; trade, normalisation on agenda

China has announced that President Xi Jinping will travel to India, marking his first visit in seven years. The trip is expected to focus on enhancing bilateral trade and advancing normalisation of relations. Ahead of the visit, Commerce Minister Wang Wentao and his Indian counterpart Piyush Goyal are scheduled to meet on the sidelines of an event to discuss economic cooperation.
