Andhra reservoirs at 57%: Naidu tells Collectors drinking water cannot be compromised

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reported Andhra Pradesh’s reservoirs are at 57 percent of capacity, down from 85 percent at the same time last year. Speaking at the eighth Collectors’ Conference, he warned drinking‑water supply must not be compromised despite the shortfall, as water levels fall, and urged statewide officials to immediately prioritize potable needs over other uses in the state.
