Vegetables from Telangana are not accepted due to rampant use of chemicals and fertilisers: Agriculture Minister

Telangana’s agriculture minister reported that widespread use of chemicals and fertilizers has led to the rejection of the state’s vegetables in markets. He noted that vegetable farming has sharply contracted, dropping from roughly three lakh acres to about fifty thousand acres. The minister attributed the decline to concerns over produce safety for consumers and quality and regulatory standards.
