Tamil Nadu HR&CE dept. exempts Tiruvannamalai, Sholinghur temples from collecting mobile phone deposit fee
Tamil Nadu’s Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department announced that the Tiruvannamalai and Sholinghur temples will no longer be required to collect a mobile‑phone deposit fee. The fee had been imposed across 52 major temples after a September 1 ban on smartphone use within temple premises. The exemption applies only to these two locations.
