Sanitation workers demand State govt. to hold talks; plan to protest at Perambur or Panaiyur
Sanitation workers in Nadu have asked the government to enter negotiations over their demands. Leaders of the Uzhaippor Urimai Iyakkam, headed by K. Bharathi, announced that a forthcoming demonstration may take place at the Perambur assembly constituency office, in Panaiyur, or outside the Corporation Commissioner’s residence, among other possible sites. They say they have not been consulted on policy changes affecting wages and working conditions.
