Kolkata-based GRSE launches indigenous ocean research vessel 'Sagar Manthan'
India's Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) in Kolkata has launched the domestically built ocean research vessel named Sagar Manthan. The ship, costing about ₹840 crore, is designed for scientific studies and maritime research. A senior government official indicated that the vessel should become operational by early 2028, enhancing the country's research capabilities at sea.
