CBSE relaxes three-language policy for Class 7, 8, 9; allows two foreign language options
India's Central Board of Secondary Education has modified its language requirement for students in grades seven to nine, permitting them to study only two foreign languages instead of the previous three-language mandate. The change does not apply to the present cohort of class‑10 students, who will continue under the existing rules. The board announced the amendment to provide greater flexibility.
