The Andhra Pradesh government released a plan to maintain uninterrupted power amid El Niño‑related challenges. It will acquire 1,600 MW of thermal capacity through tariff‑based competitive bidding, mandate that power producers keep a minimum 15‑day coal reserve, and require distribution companies to develop a year‑long supply schedule. The measures aim to secure 24‑hour reliable electricity for the state.
