AI data centre will make Thane unliveable, says Shiv Sena (UBT)
Shiv Sena leader warned that an artificial‑intelligence data centre planned by Amazon could render Thane uninhabitable. The company’s proposal, valued at about ₹7,200 crore, aims to build a facility on roughly 54 acres (53.73 acres), and opponents worry about water usage, noise and other environmental impacts. Local residents have staged protests for several months in the city.
