At a district‑level review in Ponnani, Fisheries Minister V.E. Abdul Gafoor announced that the department will adopt a welfare‑oriented approach. He said measures will be taken to fill vacancies in key positions and enhance the functioning of the Fisheries and Harbour Engineering departments in Malappuram. The plan aims to improve service delivery and staff welfare.
