More than 300 acres of agricultural land will be taken over to enlarge the new airport near Vellore, Tamil Nadu. The acquisition plan lists four nearby villages—Poigai, Abdullapuram, Anpoondi and Pudur—as the areas from which the farmland will be sourced.
