Water scarcity grips several parts of Kochi
Kochi is facing water shortages in several zones as high temperatures, electricity cuts and the partial failure of the Thammanam reservoir reduce supply. Neighborhoods such as Panampilly Nagar, Vaduthala West, Vyttila and Gandhi Nagar are among those impacted. The Kochi Water Authority says a lasting fix will require the completion of a 190 MLD treatment plant. The plant, still awaiting completion, is crucial.
