Delhi SIR: Aadhaar alone not enough, BLOs asked to seek ‘citizenship proof’ from voters
Delhi election officials say Aadhaar alone cannot confirm citizenship. Block Level Officers (BLOs) are instructed to ask voters flagged as ‘no mapping’ for extra documents to prove they are not Bangladeshi or Rohingya. Electoral Registration Officers guide them to revisit voters and collect additional proof. BLOs must gather documents such as passports, birth certificates, or other government IDs to satisfy the verification process.
