Bursting of firecrackers permitted only for two hours in Tamil Nadu on Deepavali
Tamil Nadu's firecracker ban is limited to two one‑hour windows on Deepavali. The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board says people may light crackers only between 6‑7 a.m. and 7‑8 p.m. The move aims to reduce pollution and fire risks during the festival. Police will monitor compliance and issue warnings before levying fines. The guidelines also advise using eco‑friendly crackers to minimize environmental impact.
