Supreme Court grants liberty to Abhishek Banerjee, asks Calcutta HC to consider plea against media trial
India’s Supreme Court has allowed politician Abhishek Banerjee to seek a hearing on his request that the Calcutta High Court examine a petition alleging a media trial. The bench, comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V. Mohana, directed that Banerjee be permitted to raise the issue for consideration in the High Court’s proceedings.
