FIR quashed after six U.P. students pay ₹2 lakh for vandalising Meghalaya homestay
Six students from Uttar Pradesh, who had caused damage to a homestay in Meghalaya, saw the FIR against them dismissed after collectively paying ₹2 lakh in compensation as part of the settlement. The Meghalaya High Court ordered two of the students to additionally pay ₹25,000 each to the owner and to complete six days of community service.
