Maharashtra sets up drought mitigation panel, approves ₹291.91 crore relief for flood-hit farmers
Maharashtra has created a drought mitigation panel and approved 291.91 crore rupees in relief for farmers affected by floods. The move follows low rainfall in parts of the state during 2026, leading the government to declare drought in talukas identified under the Kharif season’s Trigger‑1 assessment. The panel will monitor water resources, coordinate relief distribution, and recommend measures. Farmers will receive compensation for crop losses.
