Prisoners’ escape from Theni jail: TNSLSA orders inquiry into alleged torture of inmates
Following a breakout at Theni prison, the Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority has launched an investigation into claims that inmates were subjected to torture. Justice S.M. Subramaniam, the senior Madras High Court judge serving as the Authority’s executive chairman, ordered the probe to examine the alleged mistreatment and circumstances surrounding the escape and to ensure accountability.
