'So-called PM 3.0' needs to worry about PM2.5: Congress’ dig over Delhi air quality
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh criticised the National Clean Air Programme, saying it concentrates on larger particulate matter (PM10) while neglecting finer particles (PM2.5) that pose greater health risks. He dubbed the scheme 'PM 3.0' and urged authorities to prioritize reducing PM2.5 levels in Delhi’s air, which he described as the primary public‑health threat and call for stronger monitoring and policy measures.
