OpenIDEA: The IDE you know, rebuilt in Rust
OpenIDEA, an integrated development environment previously written in another language, has been rewritten using the Rust programming language. The rewrite aims to improve performance, safety, and extensibility, leveraging Rust’s memory‑safety guarantees. The project’s maintainers say the new codebase reduces crashes and offers faster compile times, while preserving the original feature set familiar to existing users.
