Police clash with masked rioters after largely peaceful protests across France
Police in France confronted masked rioters after a series of mostly peaceful demonstrations that had spread nationwide. The clashes erupted in several cities, leading to arrests and the use of force. Similar protests occurred in Germany, where officers deployed tear‑gas in the evening to disperse crowds. Authorities said the unrest was linked to recent policy disputes.
