T.N. Assembly unanimously adopts resolution urging Centre to do away with ‘Open-Column Method’ while enumerating BCs, MBCs, and DNCs
Members of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly voted unanimously to pass a resolution asking the Indian central government to discontinue the ‘Open-Column Method’ used in caste surveys. The method permits individuals to write in their own caste, rather than selecting from a fixed list of categories such as BC, MBC and DNC. The assembly seeks a standardized enumeration process.
